Large Selection of Ceramic & Porcelain Tile
Ceramic tile is constructed using natural clay, sand, and water. It’s molded into square or rectangular form and baked in order to remove moisture. Similarly, porcelain tile is also made of clay, but typically dense types of clay. It is also baked at a higher temperature and for a longer period of time to remove the moisture. However, the extended drying time makes porcelain tile much harder and denser than ceramic tile.
Ceramic tile is naturally reddish in color, while porcelain tile is usually white or grey. However, if you’re looking for a customized design or surface color, ceramic tile can be glazed to create different looks. Porcelain tile is normally left unglazed.
Both ceramic and porcelain tile can be used to cover walls, ceilings, countertops, showers, and backsplashes, but keep in mind that ceramic tile is only designed to be used indoors, whereas porcelain tile can be used outdoors as well. This is due to ceramic tile’s higher moisture content, which makes it more sensitive to weather elements such as freezing and thawing. Please contact us if you have any questions!
